Located 120 miles (192 km) 2.5 hours from San Jose on the Pacific coast Manuel Antonio is well known for its Manuel Antonio National Park, surf waves, breath taking beaches and Costa Rica ocean mountain views! Lush tropical forests, lagoons, mangroves and pristine white sandy beaches make up one of the most diverse ecosystems imaginable. The four beaches in the park, Espadilla Sur, Manuel Antonio, Escondito and Playita, are some of the best in the country. Manuel Antonio offers very good snorkeling. |
At 236 feet (72 m) high, Cathedral Point lies between Playa Espadilla Sur and Playa Manuel Antonio. It is connected to the mainland by a narrow land bridge and if you're up for the hike, provides a memorable view. Manuel Antonio National Park is open Tuesday through Sunday from 7:30 am to 4 pm.

How to get to Sierpe de Osa, Costa Rica (2.5 hour drive from Manuel Antonio)
A 30 minute boat ride from the Pacific Ocean along the Rio Sierpe, and 15 km south of Palmar Sur- Palmar Norte, only a few miles from the Pan American Highway, this vacation destination is ideal for explorers truly wishing to emerge themselves amongst the trees and wildlife only imaginable in, what we call, Osa Paradise.
Option A: The best way to get to Sierpe is to catch a domestic flight with "Nature Air" (approximately $150 per person; pack light) from the Juan Santamaria International Airport to Palmar Sur, then take a taxi (7000 Colones) or the Sierpe Palmar bus (350 Colones) into Sierpe. The bus leaves Palmar and drives to Sierpe every 2 hours on the hour.
Option B: The other way to get to Palmar Sur is to take a taxi from San Jose International Airport, Costa Rica to the "Tracopa" bus station downtown and buy a bus ticket ($8.00 per person) to Palmar Norte. If your flight arrives late in the day, get your ticket and spend the night in Alajuela. Contact us and we can make you a reservation close to the airport!
